Pasha Hawaii continuing its LNG journey with the new entrant state-of-the-art LNG-Powered Containership serving the Hawaii/Mainland trade lane. In addition to George III, which was successfully launched last year, Pasha Hawaii added MV Janet Marie, the second ship in the Ohana class to its fleet.
Highlights of MV Janet Marie - LNG-Powered Containership
MV Janet Marie - an LNG-Powered Containership with a length of 235 meters has surpassed the emission standards set by the International Maritime Organization for 2030. It has a cargo capacity of 2,525 units and the ability to transport 500, 45-foot containers, 400 refrigerated containers, and 300 40-foot dry containers when fully loaded.
The ship has state-of-the-art technology with an optimized hull and a highly specialized engine. Its underwater propulsion system incorporates a high-efficiency rudder and propeller, all contributing to its exceptional fuel efficiency. The vessel is said to have a sailing speed of 23 knots.
Pasha Hawaii is continuing its relentless effort of introducing the potential of hydrogen as a fuel source. The company has introduced ways to reduce emissions by retrofitting its diesel ships with new scrubbers. Projects are undertaken by the company to produce green hydrogen through solar energy and mark the beginning of the generation of fuels with very less emissions.
